Split Enz is one of the most successful and longest running bands ever to emerge from New Zealand. The group was formed in Auckland, New Zealand in 1972 by Tim Finn, Phil Judd, Mike Chunn, Miles Golding, and Mike Howard, who originally called themselves "Split Ends." They soon changed the spelling to honor their NZ homeland. For much of their career, the band was known for wild costumes and make-up designed by Crombie. 19 years after their first single "The Right Time", Achim Jaspert (composition) and Andy Cay (vocals) still work together in best harmony. Young keyboarder Henry Flex, who recently joined the band, supports the electropop-pioneers with innovative and modern melodies. On their new album "In London" the three musicians capture the different moods of this pulsating music metropole. In a perfect way the music describes a bustling day at the Picadilly Circus as well a walk through the Hyde Park on a rainy sunday morning. Beautiful and intense guitar riffs add to complex and melodic electro-pop arrangements.
