Formed in Melbourne in late 77, the Young Charlatans played only a dozen gigs in their hometown and in Sydney. The band's line-up featured singer/guitarists Rowland S Howard and Ollie Olsen; drummer Jeffrey Wegener and bassist Janine Hall. The only existing recordings were demos made by Bruce Milne for a future single on his Au Go-Go label. The band soon dissolved before this could take place, as Howard soon joined the Boys Next Door.
