The Laughing Hyenas were a rock quartet formed in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA in 1985. Formed from the ashes of vocalist John Brannon's band Negative Approach and guitarist Larissa Strickland's band L-Seven (not L7), the band had the rawness of hardcore punk combined with the emotion and grittiness of the blues. They played with Kevin Strickland and Jim Kimball for seven years, until the latter two members departed to form Mule with PW Long. The Sheena Hyenas is a rock group formed in Turku, Finland in 2003. The current members are lead singer Martin Laine (guitar), Sam Sihvonen (guitar), Stefan Granholm (bass) and Mats Ranta-Aho (drums). The members have played together in various bands since they were kids. The band has released loads of promo singles, and an EP called "This Is A Great Escape" (2006). Long Island, NY based Hip Hop group. Became the first group to release material on Chuck D's imprint SLAM Jamz. Despite receiving good reviews for their debut EP "Die Laughing" (HHC 5/5, Rolling Stone 4/5) a full length LP never surfaced.
