Solitary Experiments formed in 1994 as a collaboration between Dennis Schober and Michael Thieleman, who had briefly collaborated before as 'Plague'. The following years saw occasional live shows and the release of a couple of demo tapes before the song 'God, Where Are You?' from the 'New Violent Breed' compilation in 1999, which would become a hit in their native Germany as well as Holland and the USA. Their debut album 'Final Approach' was released on Machinery later that year. A couple of high-profile festival performances in 2000 (including a slot at that years chaotic Wave-Gotik-Treffen) preceeded their second album...

With two albums to their name, this East Midlands quintet's music encompasses genres as diverse as prog-rock, folktronica and disco against a backdrop of lush, orchestral pop and a pinch of Pulp's northern glamour. 'Strange, gargantuan rhythms, weird instrumentation and a singer who sounds like Kurt Wagner trapped beneath two feet of snow... as beautiful and crazy as The Arcade Fire' (NME) .
This is a band that has set out to continue the legacy of the big names of rock'n'roll - Johnny Cash, the Cramps, Elvis, Bo Diddley, Hasil Adkins - setting to music stories of damned souls. Though not known for being an exciting country, they are indeed from Belgium, and they do indeed manage to whip up an atmosphere of wild debauchery at all their gigs. Their performances are hot and spicy, frequently involving nudity, alongside their stomping bluesy rock'n'roll tunes. You'll drink up their sound and the atmosphere to the last drop. And then ask for more! .
Based in Wellington New Zealand, the Hasselhoff Experiment were a short-lived, full-throttle punk/thrash two piece. In the late 90's and early 2000's Andrew Tolley (guitar+vocals) and Brendan Moran (drums) toured New Zealand with the likes of Head Like A Hole, won a few NZ awards and made three albums before going their separate ways. .
