Vance Joy (born James Keogh in Melbourne) is an Australian singer-songwriter. His debut album God Loves You When You're Dancing was released in March 2013. The single "Riptide" became a success on Australian commercial radio and was certified Platinum by the Australian Record Industry Association (ARIA). Feeding on a diet of The Pogues, Paul Kelly, and whatever else was playing, Joy cut his teeth performing at open mic nights in Melbourne. His style is folk music with pop influences. Advanced Art from Tampere, Finland, are one of the pioneers of Finnish electronic music, originally active from 1985 to 1995. Musically the band evolved from the early synth pop demos to a more EBM or industrial direction. The creative core of Advanced Art consists of Jana (voice, lyrics) and Vince (machines, melodies). Other members were Pete aka Sam B, Otto A aka Auten, Jarkko Tuohimaa aka Factor, Reeta, and PW. Advanced Art was formed in 1985 when old pals Jana and Pete met Vince through a mutual friend. There are multiple artists under the name Contrivance. One is Evan Scott, producer of multiple dark drum and bass albums. Also there is a band in Norway Bergen that calls themselves Contrivance. They play progmetal .

Axis of Advance was a black/death metal band from Canada which formed in 1998 and disbanded in October of 2008. They are often referred to as "war metal" due to their lyrical themes. Before that they were known as Sacramentary Abolishment until their drummer Paulus Kressman left the band. Their latest release is a miniCD entitled Purify, released by Osmose Productions. The band consist of three members: Guitarist/vocalist Wör, Bassist/vocalist Vermin, and Drummer J.Read, who is classified as a session member despite his position being apparently permanent.
