Austin-based artist DAX delivers a sound that has been compared to Nine Inch Nails and David Bowie. Singer Dax Callner and his eponymous band, DAX, are winning over fans with a mash-up of styles from multiple genres

Their recently released CD, DAX: The EP, showcases a musical blend of industrial, funk, and rock with infectious rhythms and soulful lyrics. Lyrically, the material is personal, challenging and pointed at times, dark and sensual at others.

Propping in the CD, The listener floats along with the heavy pounding rhythm of sumission or sinks into the trippy, sexy Lay My Head. The rapid chuming Not Worth The Paper featured on a Westwood One/Song Playstation Compilation featuring artists Crystal Method and Sevendust, and is on of three songs featured in the videogame in the Groove. The CD-Single for Submission was recently distributed to 10,000 fans worldwide.

Dax, the eldest of seven children, grew up as part of a show-biz family in New York, Los Angeles and Boston. His mother is a vocal instructor and his farther is television director Marty Callner, who is credited for his work with the Rolling Stones, Britney Spears, Aerosmith, and Madonna. Although his parents were in the limelight, Dax did not go unnoticed as the preadolescent metamorphosis who wanted to rock in the Twisted Sister video Were Not Gonna Take It.

DAX recently opened for the legendary A Flock of Seagulls and performed onstage with Dee Snider of Twisted Sister. Music Connection Magazine has also named them as one of the Top 100 unsigned artists in the U.S. .
