The French band Sibyl Vane is based in Pau since 2003 and its name is based on the suicidal fiancée of Dorian Gray in the Oscar Wilde masterpiece...

Their first recording attempt, "Pret-a-porter" was released in late 2002 as a demo CD-r, a few months before its official release as an e.p.

In October 2005, the band finally released its debut album "Paradoxes" on Jerkov label.

In 2006 the band recorded a David Bowie's "I'm Deranged" cover for the Chicago based label FTC Records. The compilation entitled "2. Contamination" includes bands such as Arcade Fire, The Dresden Dolls, David J. (Bauhaus)...

In 2008, they will release their second album, "The Locked Suitcase" mixed by Howard Bilerman (Arcade Fire, A Silver Mt. Zion, Vic Chesnutt...) at the Hotel2Tango (Montréal) and including collaborations with Lydia Lunch and Mike Garson (David Bowie's amazing pianist).

Sibyl Vane is one of the most notable newcomers in the Baltics in year 2012. A trio from Estonia’s small coastal town Pärnu has done a lot so far. After winning the Estonian Youth band contest they signed under a Latvian record label I Love You Records. After performing at the biggest summer music festivals in the Baltics – Positivus and Summer Sound, the band arrived to the studio in order to record their debut album. While working in the studio they started their tour in Latvia and Lithuania. Their debut album “Love, Holy Water & TV” was introduced on November 1st. On their album opening tour that lasted to the end of year 2012, they were asked to join legendary Garbage as a supporting act at their show in Riga, Palladium. The popish and bluesy alternative rock trio has must really have a charisma that attracts people. It is not surprising that the Finnish music industry blog NRGM voted Sibyl Vane as the Estonian band with the most potential for breaking through internationally. .
