In 2001, after attending the concert of Brian Setzer in Brussels, MICHEL BRASSEUR aka SMOOTH , decided to form his own rockabilly band " SMOOTH AND THE BULLY BOYS", with him taking centre stage as front man and guitarist.
Michel has proven his excellent guitarwork in the past playing with other bands. Originally he is from the country scene.
It took the band less than 3 weeks of rehearsels to put a complete setlist together with classics of The Stray Cats, Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran, Johnny Cash etc…
They've put their personal touches in the covers to get a sound of their own. In the meanwhile, SBB got a lot of own written material as well.

Their live shows are always very dynamic and they bring a lot of atmosphere. After nearly every show, they get booked again for another gig because it's a power packed, high energy, wild rock'n'roll trio and excellent musicians that please the ears of everyone with their diverse and experienced range of rock'n'roll musicianship and showmanship.
They got no limits. Michel moves with his guitar all around the place, on the tables, the bar and the dancefloor.
MARK SPREX, known from "The Rhumba Kings", "The Houserockers", "Hemsby band" backing american rockabilly artists etc…, swings his doublebass around in the air on the rhythm of the eighties rockabilly revival sound.
Kris "Drumzagogo" Van Der Cammen keeps those drums pumping with fire!

So far, SBB played a lot of gigs at various bars, clubs, cafes, festivals and private parties in Belgium, Holland, France, Germany, Switzerland..... They backed up Wanda Jackson, did support for Lee Rocker, etc…
A new CD "Black and White" will be released in June 2009
You know what time it is? It's time to rock with Smooth and The Bully Boys!
