The Stickybacks were a six-piece skacore band, originating from east London, UK, that played an upbeat and original mixture of punk and ska with healthy doses of reggae, rock and metal thrown in for good measure.

Originally formed in the spring of 2000 with four core members, the Stickybacks went on to include a three-piece brass section that fully matured and developed their sound, though their final line-up included just two horn players:

Alan Dungate - Guitar & Backing Vocals;
Ben Mattock - Trombone & Backing Vocals;
Brett Davis - Vocals & Percussion;
Greg Chown - Drums & Percussion;
Jonathan McCarthy - Trumpet & Backing Vocals;
Paul Watson - Bass & Backing Vocals.

Before their eventual split, the Stickybacks had recorded three EPs and self-released a six track CD which they distributed for free by post and at gigs up and down the country. They also made appearances on several punk and ska compiliations.

Despite having played with the likes of King Prawn, [spunge], The Foamers, Five Knuckle, Pama International, Random Hand, The Filaments, Fireapple Red, Strike Of '59 and The Big, and being able to take pride in an exciting and energetic live set, the Stickybacks unfortunately decided to call it a day in December 2004, following the departure of several original members.

Rather randomly, anyone in Japan should keep an eye out for in-line skating doc 'Fantastic Puncher', where the Stickybacks can be found on the soundtrack... .
