There are 3 bands with the same name.
1. Formed in Aberdeen, the band are Dave Dixon (guitar / lead vocals), Paul Curtiss (bass), Richey Wolfe (keyboards / vocals) and Johnny Wolfe (drums / vocals). They came together at the end of the 1990’s as a means to survive the trials and tribulations of school together, they quickly became the biggest band in town... “When we started out we loved Guns n’ Roses and Nirvana, but they were too complicated for us,” explains wired singer Dave Dixon. “Britpop meant nothing to us because we were detached from it… it seemed like a London thing so we turned to the simplicity of the earliest rock ‘n’ roll for inspiration. There was something quite sinister about Gene Vincent but tender too. There was an ambiguity there. Raw, exciting rock n’ roll made utter sense to us.”

2. "With his Fingernail, Adam DiAngelo made what Leonard Cohen would call the music of a "beautiful loser" -- analog-electro records like A Childhood in Aeden that were chilly, earthen and ethereally pastoral while maintaining a dramatic poppiness. Here, DiAngelo's dispensed with any gentleness, raised the stakes on the dark pop race and made a shimmying '80s girl-group album filled with tart, tough melody, big blocks of 808 drum-machine percussion and chunky weedy synthesized chords. While faux Farfisas bop and bounce through the shuffling dance grooves of instrumentals like "Xenophilia," it's the cool, emotionless teasing tones of his three vocalists -- Sabrina, Colleen and Lauren (quaintly uniformed in Needles crop tops) -- that take DiAngelo's Midnight-Express-meets-Dare robotics into a humanity beyond the Human League. "Ditherpop" is aptly named for its lolling grooves, but "Every Word," "Mirror Hero" and "Give Us a Chance" are aggro-electro pop with sandy, shifting pulses and sneeringly distanced, happy-girlie-girl vocals. Keep feeling fascination, indeed.--A.D. Amorosi"

3. "The Needles are a musical group from Wilmington, North Carolina, in the United States. They have been playing together since the late 1990s, and have produced several EPs and full-length albums. The Needles have toured the United States many times, and are highly active in the action sports industry.
Their third full-length release (April 2006), entitled In The Red, is not only molten rock it's molten hot. From the total rock vibes of "Shake Yourself", and "Beggar Mans Blues", to the late night creep groove "You Need Love", In The Red features 11 tracks of true grit rock. With the present day anti-war anthem "Invitation To The Night," and the sonic energy of "Tune in Tokyo," this album makes a statement - a loud one. In The Red was recorded and produced by Dick Hodgin (Corrosion of Conformity, Hootie and the Blowfish, Velvet Revolver) at Osceola Studios in Raleigh, NC. Come on; turn your stereo up, until the needle is in the red!" .
