Lhasa de Sela (* 1972 in Big Indian in den Catskills, New York, USA; † 1. Januar 2010 in Montreal, Kanada) war der Name einer in Kanada lebenden Sängerin. Ihr Vater stammt aus Mexiko, ihre Mutter ist US-Amerikanerin. Als Kind reist sie sieben Jahre lang mit den Eltern und ihren drei Schwestern mit einem Bus durch die Vereinigten Staaten und in Mexiko. DJ Lhasa aka Maurizio Braccagni is an italian DJ, he started his experience as DJ in 1987 and released his first record in 1989. During his DJ nights he plays techno music, especially from north europe, and this style will influence his future artistic direction deeply. Lhasa de Sela (1972 - 2010), also known under the moniker Lhasa, was a Canadian singer of Mexican and Jewish descent. In 1985 at age 13 when her parents separated, Lhasa, her mother and her sisters settled in San Francisco where Lhasa started singing in a Greek cafe. She included Spanish language lessons in her high school studies. After viewing a documentary about Billie Holiday, Lhasa determined that she, too, would make a career in singing.
