Disturbed (engl. für gestört, wahnsinnig) ist eine US-amerikanische Metal-Band. Sie wurde 1996 in Chicago gegründet und steht derzeit bei Reprise Records unter Vertrag. Disturbed gilt heute in der Regel als Alternative Metal-Band, wird aber gelegentlich auch den Genres Nu Metal und Heavy Metal zugeordnet.
Bis zum Juni 2014 verkaufte die Band weltweit insgesamt mehr als 14 Millionen Tonträger, davon alleine neun Millionen in den USA. Ihr Debüt ausgenommen, stieg jedes ihrer Studioalben auf Platz eins der US-amerikanischen Charts ein.
Im Oktober 2011 ging die Band in eine unbefristete Pause und widmeten sich einigen Nebenprojekten, bevor sie im Sommer 2015 wieder...
Disturb formed in 1999 in Marseille, France. They play a fierce metal hardcore in the vein of Hatebreed / Terror / Sworn Enemy / Madball led by 2 vocalists that sublime the catchy, furious guitar parts and the powerful, fast and groovy drums fills. Anomalous Disturbances is the musical pseudonym of Terry O'Brien. Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, he is a guitarist, composer, and producer active in the genres of ambient music and electronica. He utilizes the technique of "live looping" his guitar via an updated digital version of the "time lag accumulator" system pioneered by minimalist composer Terry Riley and employed by Robert Fripp, Brian Eno, and others. The resultant music is dronelike yet melodic. His work has been released on solo CDs, compilation CDs and used for television. O'Brien is also active in live performance, primarily in his native Canada. .
DISTURBANCE PROJECT was formed at the beginning of 2002 as a project with some guys from different bands (DENAK, DISAGREEMENT, MOTIONLESS...) trying to play Grind Core.
In the summer 2003, we recorded our first 6 songs and we made about 70 cdr´s/tapes that were used as promo stuff. The most of them were distributed at the Obscene Extreme this year. Three songs taken from this recording were remixed and included in the "AN OLD FASHIONED GRINDCORE ASSAULT" comp.CD, done by Gerardo and released by 5 spanish labels.
