Das Modern Jazz Quartet (oder kurz: MJQ) war eine amerikanische Jazzformation. Es wurde - entstehend aus dem "Milt Jackson Quartet" - 1952 von John Lewis (Piano), Milt Jackson (Vibraphon), Percy Heath (Kontrabass) und Kenny Clarke (Schlagzeug) gegründet. Jackson, Lewis und Clarke bildeten ursprünglich mit Ray Brown die Rhythmusgruppe 1946 bis 1950 der Dizzy Gillespie Big Band und vertrieben sich während langwieriger Bläserproben zunächst die Zeit mit gemeinsamem Musizieren. Quarteto em Cy (Quartett in Cy, nach einem Wortspiel von Vinícius de Moraes) ist eine vierköpfige brasilianische Frauengesangsgruppe der Música Popular Brasileira und des Bossa Nova. Die Gruppe wurde Anfang der 1960er-Jahre von den vier Schwestern Cyva, Cynara, Cybele und Cylene (de Sá Leite) begründet. Sie traten anfangs gemeinsam mit Vinícius de Moraes, Dorival Caymmi, Baden Powell und Oscar Castro-Neves in den "boates" (kleinen Nachtclubs) von Rio auf, und sangen vorrangig Bossa Nova. The Golden Gate Jubilee Quartet, also commonly called the Golden Gate Quartet, is a vocal group formed in 1931 in Berkeley, Virginia. The GGJQ was influenced as much by the tradition of mid century vocal groups like the Mills Brothers and the Three Keys as it was by the tradition of gospel vocal groups. Secular hits included recordings of "Coming in on a Wing and a Prayer," and "Stalin Wasn't Stalin." Sacred hits included “Give Me Two Wings”and “I’m A Pilgrim." Members included Robert Ford, A.C.
