N Ravikiran | en
Chitravina N Ravikiran hails from Chennai, capital city of Tamilnadu state in the southeast of India. He is a highly accomplished chitravina and gotuvadyam player (these are two very similar slide lutes of South India); he is also a fine singer and composer.
As a child of two he stumped the authorities with his deep knowledge of the intricacies of South India's classical music. His is a family of musicians; his father (Ravikiran's first teacher) and his late grandfather being excellent gottuvadyam players.
He is active in performance, and creates intercultural music with a fine aesthetic sense.
