En 1964, The Guess Who le probó a la juventud del Canadá que sus grupos podían tener canciones exitosas, no solo en su país, también en todo el mundo. En aquel entonces pensar que en medio de la invasión británica "Shakin' All Over" pudiera igualar a los Beatles o a la respuesta norteamericana vestidos de Beach Boys era inconcebible. Guess Why a Polish band was formed in September 1993 in Buk near Poznań by: Przemysław 'Perła' Wejmann (guitar, vocals, lyrics) and Roman 'Kostek' Kostrzewski (drums), both playing in a metal band Repostor at the same time. A few days later two other musicians joined the newly formed band: Paweł 'Paulus' Czubek from Delirium Tremens (bass) and Piotr 'Piciu' Przybylski (keyboards, back-up vocals). For the first two years the band rehearsed and played many concerts alongside various groups throughout the country. Wafts of Voodoo Techno, stabs of electro blues, inner space sci-fi effects and thick synth melodies coming on like tar flavoured honey. The twisted noir-pop of the Guessmen confounds expectations. Their recent album "Back From The Bins" has been hailed as a masterpiece by some and un-listenable by those of a delicate disposition. Whilst shifting from gnarly hobo disco to jazz infused electro, the songs manage to hang together with enough identifiable cohesion to keep things from being on the wrong side of random, maintaining the all important GROOVE as the centre of their world.
