SneakerFreaks music is best described as songwriterpop. The Dutch band is in an ongoing search of the perfect popsong. Influences: Rufus Wainwright, Jeffrey Foucault, Paul McCartney, Ani diFranco, Paul Simon. Debut album GO was launched in march 2006, the first single School was accidentally recorded in the Radio 3FM studio in the Netherlands. During the GO promotion tour SneakerFreak appeared a lot on national radio (Radio 1, Radio 2, 3FM) and opened for some great acts: Starsailor, Heather Nova, Spinvis, The Veils. Martin Cartledge is the founder of Weekend World label. Weekend World is the solo project of Producer Martin Cartledge. Martin hails from deepest, darkest West Yorkshire...Bradford to be precise. When not bothering sheep on the moors, Martin started developing a love of dance music from going to clubs like Back to Basics, Up yer Ronson & The Orbit. As luck would have it Martin found himself to be a bit useful in the recording studio, and hence in order to getting a proper job (although his Mum does say he had a paper round once, but was sacked for laziness)...
