Demented Ted was a death metal band from Villa Park (IL), USA.
The band was formed in 1991, and in 1993 they Signed with Pavement Records and recorded their only full length album, Promises Impure. During this time Mark Kohler briefly replaced Eric Alverez on the bass, this however did not last long. Touted as prog-death metal and likely influenced by the likes of Carcass in the days of the album Necroticism: Descanting the Insalubrious . Demented Ted were unsuccesful and soon after they renamed the band Beyond and released one album still with the Pavement Label. Having no success...
Burst into the Israeli metal scene in late 2009, the band had managed to build a loyal fan base, due to their crushing melodic hardcore music, and highly energetic stage performance.
After all the copies of their first independently released demo got sold out, the band went on recording their debut album "Legacy", produced by the American producer Mark Lewis who worked with bands such as: Deicide, Devil Driver, The Black Dahlia Murder, Trivium, All that remains, Whitechapel, seemless, Bury Your Dead, Sanctity, Adrift, GodForbid .

Well, what makes Demented Scumcats more interesting or better than Demented are go, phheeww nothing , but a lot also. The music is nearly similar but the sound is much fuller and better than DAG. The arrangements are brilliant and close to the good ol Kicked Out Of Hell days. White Stocking Tops, Snail Train, Hillside Strangler and Don't Want You gave (and give) Mark the chance to use all his voice and lyric talents. Backed by a bunch of 1st class Psychobilly musicians nothing could go wrong....
