Le Couple was a Japanese band consisting of Emi Fujita (born May 15, 1963, singer and wife) and Ryuji Fujita (born November 7, 1963, guitarist and husband). The band's debut single was Umi no Soko de Utau Uta (unofficial translation: "The Song To Sing At The Bottom Of The Ocean") released in July, 1994. The Cheapskates formed in Pembrokeshire, West Wales in 1998, and finally became a six-piece in 2000, after a few line-up changes. From the very beginning, The Cheapskates have played an uplifting blend of ska, punk and pop - lyrically sharp and witty, wh?le musically melodic, catchy and fun. The live show has always been inventive and full of humour - the band emphasising their twist on ska convention by dressing in suits cut off at the knee. Originated from Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia, this band has been rockin' since 1995. In 2006 they were listed in Rolling Stone's 25 Best Bands on Myspace and also released "Top Of The Pop" on both America and Japan. They are influenced by The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Big Star, The Who, The Raspberries, The Beat, The Rooks, Enuff Znuff and Weezer. .
