I BUCK-TICK sono una band rock giapponese fondata a Fujioka nel 1984. Sono considerati insieme agli X JAPAN fra i fondatori del genere visual kei per aver unito in un amalgama coerente stili musicali molto eterogenei fra loro (Rock'n'roll classico, post-punk, new wave, goth, musica elettronica ed elementi ambient ed industrial) con un look vicino alla moda gotica e steampunk. Nasce ad Anaheim, nella contea di Orange, in California, dal cantante Tim Buckley e dalla violoncellista Mary Guibert, di origini panamensi. Tim Buckley abbandona ben presto la madre Mary, per partire alla volta di New York e di nuove prospettive di lavoro nel mondo musicale della Grande Mela anni sessanta. Viene quindi cresciuto dalla zia Peggy e la nonna, dato che sua madre è costretta a lavorare per mantenere la famiglia. Up Dharma Down is a band from the Philippines. They have been together since 2004. The group incorporates influences from rock, trip-hop, electronica and post-rock to create a sound which stands out in the local scene. The band got the name from the word Dharma. In whatever case, it is a law that connects everything in existence no matter how diverse they are. This is how the band explains their music, having rather dissimilar musical influences that results into a dynamic sound that still meets halfway as it appeals to a certain group of listeners almost everywhere. Buck Clayton (born Wilbur Dorsey Clayton in Parsons, Kansas on November 12, 1911-died in New York City on December 8, 1991) was an American jazz trumpet player, fondly remembered for being a leading member of Count Basie’s 'Old Testament' orchestra and leader of mainstream orientated jam session recordings in the 1950s. His principal influence was Louis Armstrong. The “Penguin Guide to Jazz on CD” says that he “synthesi[zed] much of the history of jazz trumpet up to his own time, with a bright brassy tone and an apparently limitless facility for melodic improvisation”. .
