1) The Minstrels (formed: Rochester, NY 1998) play folk-rock music associated with genres such as folk noir, dark folk, and gothic folk. Their sound is mainly comprised of acoustic and electric guitar, bass, accordion, piano, keyboard, and musical saw. The songs are emotionally direct and usually built on a core of acoustic instrumentation, but liberal use of reverb, delay and other effects often gives them an ethereal quality.
