Il gruppo Propaganda fu creato agli inizi degli anni 80, in Germania. Era originariamente una formazione di musica sintetica composta da tre artisti: Ralf Dörper (fondatore e successivo membro dei Die Krupps), Andreas Thein and Suzanne Freytag. Poi si aggiunse una seconda vocalist Claudia Brücken. Il primo successo, in UK dove il gruppo si trasferì, fu "Dr. Mabuse" poi seguito dal più famoso "Duel", raccolti nell'album "A Secret Wish" del 1985, assieme al singolo 12" mix "P.Machinery".
