2010年11月28日、「アイドルとメタルの融合」をテーマにユニットを結成 。YouTubeで公開された「ド・キ・ド・キ☆モーニング」のミュージックビデオには「なんじゃこりゃぁあ！！」と衝撃を受けた多くのコメントと共に海外からのアクセスが殺到し、その存在は日本だけでなく、北米、南米、ヨーロッパ、アジアなど海外にも飛び火している。
2013年1月、「イジメ、ダメ、ゼッタイ」でトイズファクトリーよりメジャーデビュー。
アイドルの枠を超え、日本を越えて注目されはじめている BABYMETAL は、ナンバーワンじゃなくてオンリーワンの道を追求していく。 .
FUNKY MONKEY BABYS（ファンキー・モンキー・ベイビーズ）は、日本のヒップホップグループである。メンバー全員が東京都八王子市出身。2004年結成。所属レコード会社はドリーミュージック。それぞれシングルのジャケットとプロモーションビデオに芸能人を起用することで話題を呼んでいる。実は英語の“BABYS”はスペルミスであり、“BABIES”と綴るのが正しい。だがそれも意図的なものである。通称ファンモン。 .
