Omega Tribe was an English anarcho-punk band, formed in the early 1980s in Barnet, North London. Their first EP, "Angry Songs", was produced by Crass Records in 1982. Animal Alpha was an alternative rock band from Norway that formed in 2002. The singer Agnete Maria Forfang Kjølsrud wanted to play in a band that already existed. After a while she got a call from Christian Wibe who had a band, but lacked a singer. Thus Animal Alpha was born. 1986年、前オメガトライブに在籍していた高島信二（ギター）、西原俊次（キーボード）に加え、新たに日系ブラジル人のカルロス・トシキ、菊池桃子、岩崎宏美のバックバンド（パイナップル・カンパニー）でギターを担当していた黒川照家を迎えて、プロデューサー藤田の第2弾プロジェクト『1986オメガトライブ』（ナインティーンエイティシックス - ）としてデビュー。 1988年3月、黒川がバンドを脱退する。グループ名を『カルロス・トシキ&オメガトライブ』に変更する。 改名の理由として、「黒川が脱退した以上、1986オメガトライブではなくなった」ことと、「（1986という）ネーミングが古くなってきた」ことが挙げられている。 なお、改名に当たってスタッフとしては「もっとカルロスを全面に押し出したい」という意向があったが、本人たちは「あくまでも3人のバンドである」と考えていたため、スタッフの思惑通りにはいかなかったようである。 1988年7月、レコーディングにコーラスとして参加していたジョイ・マッコイが正式に加入する。 1990年、ワーナーパイオニアへ移籍(カルロス・トシキ&オメガトライブ名義で発売された全て楽曲は、原盤権がワーナーパイオニア（現・ワーナーミュージック・ジャパン）に譲移された)。松任谷由実が作詞・作曲した「時はかげろう」を発表後、ファイナルツアーを行い、1991年3月16日日清パワーステーションでのライブを最後に解散する。1990年12月14日放送の『ミュージックステーション』（テレビ朝日系）にて解散発表を行った。 2005年3月9日、ファンサイトの呼びかけを中心とした署名活動により、発売された楽曲[12]が全曲[13]収録されたCD＋PVや『歌のトップテン』に出演した時の映像を納めたDVDを収めた『COMPLETE BOX "Our Graduation"』を発売する。 代表曲は「君は1000%」（1986オメガトライブ）「アクアマリンのままでいて」（カルロス・トシキ&オメガトライブ）など。 .
