ローリング・ストーンズ (The Rolling Stones) は、 1963年にレコードデビューしたイギリスのロックバンド。 1960年代から第一線で活動をし続ける数少ないバンドの一つであり 「世界最高のロック・バンド」といわれる。 現在も根強い人気があり、 ステージでの演奏には定評がある。 2007年現在もスポンサーのバックアップ等により大規模なツアーを行っている。 バンド名はシカゴブルースの巨匠、 マディ・ウォーターズの“Rollin' Stone”にちなんで、 当時リーダーであったブライアン・ジョーンズが命名。 ローリング・ストーンズの音楽的ルーツは、黒人のブルースにある。 デビュー曲の「カム・オン」はチャック・ベリーのカバーである。 彼らがデビューした1960年代初期、 アメリカにおいてはまだまだ黒人に対する差別が根強く、 「ブルースのレコードジャケットには、 黒人の顔写真を載せてはならない（黒人ミュージシャン本人の顔写真を含む）」 という慣習のある州さえ多かった。 こうした時代にイギリス出身の白人のグループでありながら、 黒人の音楽であるブルースを心から尊敬し、影響を受け、 黒人になりきって歌や演奏に表現しようとしたバンドがローリング・ストーンズである。 その結果、現在では黒人ミュージシャンからも敬意を受ける数少ない白人のバンドとなった。 こうした点でローリング・ストーンズは、 「白人なのに黒人のようにブルースを歌える」とされたエルビス・プレスリーや、 さまざまなジャンルの音楽を取り入れたが、 音楽的スタイルに関しては、 アングロ・サクソン的な表現方法の枠にとどまったビートルズとは一線を画している （ここで言う「黒人的」あるいは「アングロ・サクソン的」とは、 人種や民族の優劣とは全く関わりなく、 音楽的フィーリングや表現方法の違いにすぎないことを念のため付記する）。 .

12 Stones is a post-grunge band that formed in 2000 in Mandeville, Louisiana, a suburb north of New Orleans. The first line-up consisted of Paul McCoy (vocals), Kevin Dorr (bass), Eric Weaver (guitar), Stephen Poff (guitar/vocals) who left to finish One Like Son's Goodbye and Patrick Quave (drums) who was later replaced by Aaron Gainer. The Kidney Stones are two young music artists; James Wyatt and Luke Thorpe, who came together in 2007 to form the band. The general sound of the band is acoustic indie though some songs can be either branching into more heavy material such a rock, or into softer material such as ballads. The band plays with two acoustic guitars and sometimes features bass or various other instruments. Some songs have also been known to include sound effects and other experimental sounds. .
