There are at least two bands with this name: 1. A Japanese rock band which was formed by vocalist, Hiroshi Kitadani (きただにひろし) in 1999. 2. A Swedish symphonic/melodic metal band formed in Hammerdall in 2005. Lapis Lazuli (or the band formerly known as Aftermath) is a symphonic metal orchestra which spawns from the north of Sweden. Lazuli is a progressive rock/avantgarde rock band formed in France in 1998. In 1999 they released their self-titled first album Lazuli, which had a limited audience. Their second album, Amnésie, in 2004, was released after Lazuli signed with the Night & Day distribution group. On July 2 and 3, 2005, Lazuli attended the Montreux Jazz Festival and received an award for "Under the Sky."
