The Nectarine No. 9 was an indie band from Edinburgh, Scotland. Formed by former Fire Engines frontman Davy Henderson in 1991, the band's music has been described as "dark, moody and brilliant" "noisy guitar rock" with "quirky rhythms". The Nectarine No. 9 released several albums throughout the 1990s and 2000s, and recorded seven John Peel sessions. The band disbanded in 2004. .

Sensible Nectar was started by Baltimore area native Justin Marc Lloyd in the summer of 2009 as a guitar-based ambient & drone project. It had rapidly evolved into an extremely diverse outfit of power electronics, ambience and noise before Justin retired the moniker and started various other projects in it's place (such as Pregnant Spore and Dementia And Hope Trails). The band was from New Jersey, and lead singer Jimmie Jersie was known for his flowery wardrobe, imported from Italy. They had a Rolling Stones-ish image locally, with flourishes of psychedelia. Jimmie Jersie was also a member of the Del-Aires, a band with a career as interesting as the Queen's Nectarine Machine.
