The Winks were formed by Todd Macdonald (Mandolin, Vocals) & Tyr Jami (Cello, Vocals, Tap Dancing) in Vancouver, Canada. They have been joined by many collaborators over the years and are currently living in Montreal and often performing and recording with Soren Brothers (Keyboard Instruments), Josh Zubot (Drums, Violin), Jasa Baka (Live Animation) and Aya Alkawa (Vocals, Tap Dancing, Percussion).
They have been steadily releasing albums, touring, staging happenings, making soundtracks, performing in theater & performance art events and doing improv concerts since they began almost a decade ago as an instrumental improv cello & mandolin duo.
