Chet Faker (właściwie Nicholas James Murphy) jest australijskim twórcą muzyki elektronicznej. W 2012 roku podpisał kontrakt z amerykańską wytwórnią Downtown Records i wydał EP-kę pt. Thinking in Textures. W październiku tego samego roku otrzymał nagrodę dla najlepszego australijskiego nowego muzyka, a jego dzieło wygrało w plebiscycie na najlepszą niezależną Ep-kę na rodzimym kontynencie. Murphy szukając swojego indywidualnego stylu inspirował się takim wykonawcami jak Chet Baker oraz Bob Dylan. Będąc fanem jazzu swój pseudonim artystyczny przyjął w hołdzie dla wykonawcy którego podziwiał za niezwykle delikatny, prawdziwy i intymny vocal. Na swojej muzycznej drodze podjął współpracę z beatmakerem Flume oraz wokalistką hip-hopową...
