Born in Salvador/BA, Juliana always had a strong bond with her native country..s music. In 1990 started her professional carreer singing backup for Banda Beijo, led by singer Netinho. Participated in numerous studio sessions and live shows with Bahia..s top artists like Ivete Sangalo (Banda Eva), Pimenta Nativa, Cheiro de Amor and Ricardo Chaves. In 1994 moved to New York where she married music producer Tuta Aquino. Started a very successful solo career gaining the recognition of the local media while performing at important venues like Lincoln Center..s Demeroch Park, SOB..s, Town Hall and many others.
