Filosofia Reggae surgiu há 8 anos em São Caetano do Sul, cidade do ABC paulista. Sua trajetória é marcada por uma tragédia e por desentendimentos entre seus membros fundadores. No inicio formavam a banda: Veto (Vocal), Português (Baixo), Sandro (Guitarra), Japonês (Guitarra), André (Bateria) e Wagner (percussão). Logo nos primeiros shows a banda chamou a atenção da cena Reggae na época e essa formação foi se consolidando até que Veto líder da banda, convidou Denise de Paula para dividir os vocais. Logo após a entrada de Denise começam os planos e escolha de repertório para as gravações do primeiro CD....
Born out of desire to counteract the violent drug industry and police oppression, Grupo Cultural AfroReggae – GCAR (“AfroReggae Cultural Group”) was formed in January 1993, initially around AfroReggae Notícias (“AfroReggae News”) – a newspaper designed to add value and disseminate black culture. In 1997, AfroReggae opened Centro Cultural AfroReggae Vigário Legal (“Vigário Legal AfroReggae Cultural Center”), a landmark in its history. With structured facilities within the community, they were able to enhance the quality of their programs and transform the initiative into a reference point for social and cultural practices in the city of Rio de Janeiro. .
Reggae George (George Davy, 1950 - 5 February 2017) was a Jamaican reggae singer. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Reggae George was initially part of the duo George and Neville that did a few tunes for Leslie Kong. Neville, being Neville Beckford later to become the famed deejay Jah Woosh. His second release, "Fig Root" was produced by Sonia Pottinger for her High Note label. The song became a success and lead to George Davy recording for the producer Hartnell Henry in a session where Bingy Bunny and Sowell Radics featured, both of who would form a part of the Roots...
