The Canton Spirituals are an award-winning gospel recording group and are regarded as pioneers in the genre of traditional gospel music. Founded in Canton, Mississippi in 1943, the original Canton Spirituals were Eddie Jackson, Theo Thompson, Roscoe Lucious and founder Harvey Watkins, Sr. (December 5, 1929-November 16, 1994). Today, the group is fronted by Watkins' son, Harvey, Jr., and consists of Billy Voss, David Curry, Merlin Lucious, Alton Hollis and Maurice Morgan. .

There are at least 3 different artists named Rituals. 1) Rituals hails from the dry, washed out deserts of Phoenix, Arizona featuring current members of Hella Mounds. This project is a much more darker and more doomy incarnation than HM, but stills holds on to some of the more atmospheric/traits of their other musical underpinnings. Spirituals is the moniker for the sample-based electronic music endeavor of drummer, producer, and graphic artist Tyler Tadlock. In his hometown of Jackson, Mississippi, Tyler began experimenting with samples from local free jazz projects and sounds recorded with his laptop to form rhythm driven compositions. After relocating to Portland, OR, he began work on his first album, drawing on a wealth of samples, meticulously chopped and arranged to form electronic music which pays homage his jazz roots. .

Nomadico was born in Los Angeles, California. He is influenced by a wide spectrum of sounds from the Latin Cumbias he heard growing up as a youth in East LA to funky James Brown riffs and the grinding industrial factory noise of the city. His compositions and arrangements stand out in a genre saturated with loop driven redundant noise. As a DJ he can start mixing funk into techno, then flip the script to rock'n'roll and reggae without the audience knowing what hit them.
