Reverend Gary Davis - znany również jako Blind Gary Davis, (30 IV 1896 - 5 V 1972) był muzykiem tworzącym na pograniczu bluesa i gospel. Jego głównym instrumentem była gitara akustyczna, lecz potrafił również biegle posługiwać się harmonijką ustną, jak i banjo. Jego niepowtarzalna gra stała się inspiracją dla takich znakomitości muzyki rockowej, jak np. Bob Dylan, Jackson Browne, Townes van Zandt, Jorma Kaukonen, czy Jack White. Gary Davis urodził się w Laurens w Południowej Karolinie. Wzrok stracił już jako niemowlę, z powodu chemikaliów, które nieszczęśliwie dostały się do jego oczu.
