Zespół powstał w 1996 roku i od tego czasu urósł do miana jednego z najpopularniejszych i najczęściej koncertujących zespołów na fińskiej scenie niezależnej. Od początku związani są z wytwórnią Combat Rock Industry (wytwórni powiązanej personalnie z członkami i wydającej płyty m.in. Endstand, Manifesto Jukebox, The Phoenix Foundation), choć ich liczne wydawnictwa firmowały także inne europejskie wydawnictwa. Jak dotąd zespoł ma na koncie 3 długogrające albumy ("Suppres and Restrain" 2000; "Down And Out" 2002; "Heroes Amongst Thieves" 2004), 1 minialbum ("Can't Wash The Stains" 2002), sporo singli i mnóstwo utworów na rozmaitych kompilacjach. Wasted Chicago Youth are Justin Long and Mazi Namvar; Chicago's well known underground house militia.
