Maurice Fulton's name is one of those unexpected recurrences in dance music, I mean still knowing almost nothing about him he never seemed to merit mention along with Frankie Knuckles/Bones/Whoever nor in the Detroit pack of May, Carter, Atkins, and of course the master Craig or early euro-stirrers like Kirk Degiorgio and others. Dave Fulton is currently a member of Toronto, Canada's breakout rock band The Nightmares in which he plays lead guitar and provides back up vocals. Past projects have included a stint on rhythm guitar in Delinquints, guitar and back up vocals in The Famous Monsters, and playing guitar in Wasting Time. Fulton Lights are one of several projects masterminded by Brooklyn-based singer, composer, and musician Andrew Spencer Goldman, who has also recorded as leader of the groups John Guilt and Maestro Echoplex. Amazing and almost completely forgotten, this Downtown NY guitarist/electronic artist issued a string of three related gems on the German Dossier imprint during a compressed block of time in the late 80's, popped up on a few Elliott Sharp discs in the 90's and then seemed to disappear completely. This first part of the series (the follow up to Fulton's debut opposite Sharp on the album Hara) featured contributions from the orbit of improvisors and out-rockers associated with Sharp's Carbon ensemble and Zoar imprint, including Sharp himself alongside drummer Robert Previte, keyboardist Wayne Horvitz and bassist David Hofstra. .
