The Tupolev Ghost were a post-hardcore band formed in Cambridge, UK. Their style was greatly influenced by the complexity of bands such as Fugazi and Faraquet along with the power and drive of Hot Snakes and Shotmaker, combined with a love for good melody. Their most recent record The Tupolev Ghost, released through UK independent Big Scary Monsters Records in spring 2009, garnered much acclaim in the UK rock music press and they were known for their intense and explosive live performances. Tupolev were founded in Vienna in 2003. They play instrumental pieces using piano, bass / cello, drums and electronics. After an EP on the german netlabel 12rec and their critically acclaimed debut album "Memories of Bjoern Bolssen" (Valeot, 2008), their second album "Towers of Sparks" will be released in February 2011 on Valeot Records: complex, well-thought-out compositions, rich in nonrepetitive structures, melodies and warmth.
