Группа IMAGINATION была сформирована в 1981 году: вокалист - Ли Джон (Lee John), басист - Эшли Ингрэм (Ashley Ingram), ударник - Эррол Кеннеди (Errol Kennedy). Название было взято как дань уважения Джону Леннону по мотивам его знаменитой песни «Imagine». Их танцевальная поп-соул музыка не вписывалась в простой диско-формат, заложенный еще Boney M и Дитером Боленом, и до сих пор у нас ассоциирующийся с 80-ми.
