KING OF ASGARD took form in 2008 by founder Karl Beckman after dissolving his latest musical projects. Teaming up with long time absent fellow worker, Karsten Larsson, once accomplice in the defunct vikinghorde Mithotyn. Old Gods of Asgard is a fictional band created for the video game Alan Wake. The real band behind them is Poets of the Fall, who wrote and recorded the songs with input from the developers (as far as lyrics and fictional consistency goes). The game contains two tracks under this name; The Poet and The Muse and Children of the Elder God.
