Shiva Chandra is Daniel Vernunft and was born in November 1972 in Hamburg. As he was involved with making music his whole life, a onetime aspiring jazz pianist , he started to make trance in the beginning of the 1990's. His main project is Shiva Chandra. He has intelligently developed his own very independent trance style by taking acoustic samples and integrating them in a homogenous, complete music, launching the minimal progressive “Hamburg Style”. Chandra Oppenheim is the daughter of American conceptual artist Dennis Oppenheim who was well acquainted with the artists and musicians of the late 70's Lower East Side.
