Sweden's Acursed bring a crusty, metallic hardcore attack to their debut Prank Records LP that is reminiscent of countrymates Wolfbrigade, Skitsystem and Martyrdöd. The Cursed is a stoner / groove doom metal band from New Jersey, USA. They formed in 2006 by Overkill frontman Bobby 'Blitz' Ellsworth (Vocals), ex-Hades guitarist Dan Lorenzo, Job The Raver (Bass) and Drummer Mike Christi (Non-Fiction). Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth and Dan Lorenzo began collaborating together in late 2005, and came up with a style that while still heavy, is a departure from the intense Thrash metal of Overkill or Hades. The whole Bright Curse story starts in June 2012 in London when, after an improvised jam led by LSD, sadness, and anger, at a good friend’s going away party, Singer/Guitarist Romain, Drummer Zach and Bassist Sammy decided to write some real heavy shit! The first self-titled album was composed and recorded that same summer of 2012, co-produced by JB Pilon. 8 months after the recording Sammy left the band and was replaced by that same JB Pilon on the bass in March 2013. All the musicians are French, but living in London, they like to think that they are citizens...
