Formed in 1996, Going Steady was a Japanese punk band comprised of 4 members, 峯田和伸 (mineta kazunobu)-vocals/guitar, 村井守 (murai mamoru)-drums, 安孫子真哉 (abiko shinya)-bass, and 浅井威雄 (asai takeo)-guitar. The band split in 2003, and later that year Mineta formed Going Steady's successor, Ging Nang Boyz. Going Steady is considered an important and highly influential band in the history of Japanese punk, and continues to draw new listeners from around the world. .
