Haila Maria Mompie Gonzalez was born on the 28th of January 1974 in the easterly part of Cuba, Las Tunas. From an early age on, she was wrapped in the beauty of dance, music and singing. After finishing her dancing degree in 1991, she performed with different bands as well as in numerous musicals and cabarets. For the first time ever, Haila toured in Mexico together with the "Guajira Habanera Show" in 1992. Two years later, she joined the well known band "Bamboleo" and landed several hits in Cuba. Active in music and the art world, Mikhail Karikis was first spotted by music innovators Björk and Graham Massey and selected for commercial release on Björk's 'Army of Me' album. He has released alongside Scanner, David Toop and others. His music spans from electronica, to alternative pop, Balkan folk and avant-garde.
