Jean-Baptiste Krumpholz (lang-cz: Jan Křtitel Krumpholtz) (8 May 1742 – 19 February 1790) was a Czech composer and harpist. Krumpholz was born in Budenice, near Zlonice. He learned music from his father while growing up in Paris; in 1773 he played a successful harp concerto in the Burgtheater in Vienna. After serving three years in Count Esterházy's court orchestra (1773–1776) during which he is said to have taken counterpoint lessons with Joseph Haydn, he embarked on a successful concert tour of Europe. Garbanotas Bosistas (Curly Bassist), the psychedelic rock / indie folk fivesome from Vilnius, Lithuania, is a proof that the old hippie ideas of love, peace and rock'n'roll can find their place in today's Baltic music scene. The band was formed by two brothers, Mantas (solo guitar) and Šarūnas (rhythm guitar, vocals) Joneikis, whose first guitar teachers were franciscan monks from a local church. Their first stage appearances were with a Christian band. But then the unexpected happened - the brothers discovered psychedelic rock. In 2008 they started as Garbanotas Bosistas, retro rockers, modern enough for indie kids to like them....
