Kryptogen Rundfunk is a project from Russia (see http://kr.radionoise.ru/), based in St. Petersburg and founded by M.M. who specializes in music built mainly from radionoise manipulations. Pulsating rhythms, melodic elements, samples and dense noise attacks lie on a substrate of plangent drone layers extracted from electrified depths of radio receivers. This project evokes both the uncanny aspects of industry and the trauma of its operation in an increasingly dysfunctional context. The Munich Radio Orchestra (German: Münchner Rundfunkorchester) is a German symphony orchestra based in Munich. It is one of the two orchestras affiliated with the Bavarian Radio (Bayerischer Rundfunk), the other being the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. A precursor ensemble to the Munich Radio Orchestra was established in the 1920's. The current Munich Radio Orchestra was formalised in 1952, with Werner Schmidt-Boelke as its first chief conductor. The orchestra's focus has historically been on light music, with particular emphasis in its early years as an orchestra for operettas. There are several bands with the name Rundfunk: 1. Dutch dj collective playing funk, soul, breaks, jazz, latin and hiphop 2. A Swedish Electro-Pop band from Stockholm that has released two albums, We Know Karate (2002) and Kings & Queens (2004). The band has officially split up in February 2007. 3. A Belgian Rock / Jam band founded in 2002, yet to release a record. 4. A Swiss Funk band (spelled "RundFunk"), created 2005 from a former Jazz band called "Honey Pie goes Jazz".
