The British band Fuchsia released a little-noticed self-titled album in 1971 that, true to its name, was a fusion of various currents of early-'70s rock, particularly progressive rock and British folk-rock. While guitarist and lead singer Tony Durant was Fuchsia's main motor as the composer of most of the material, the band's chief distinguishing mark was its three-woman string section, including cellist Madeleine Bland (who also played piano and harmonium) and violinists Janet Rogers and Vanessa Hall-Smith; all three also contributed backing vocals. With fairly tuneful folk-rock-pop-ish songs whose progressions are unconventional enough that you often don't know quite where...
Lillian Axe is a rock/glam metal band founded in the late 1980's in New Orleans. The most well-known lineup of the band was Ron Taylor (lead vocals), Steve Blaze (lead guitar), Jon Ster (rhythm guitar), Darrin Delatte (bass), and Gene Barnett (drums). Poetic Justice was their most successful album, which hit the streets in January of 1992. Fueled by the hit single, "True Believer" and followed by their cover of the Badfinger classic, "No Matter What", Poetic Justice reached the upper 100 of the Billboard album charts. The bands first album, on MCA Records, was produced by Ratts's Robbin Crosby...

Stepping onto the mean streets of the Lower East Side aged 19, she was an unknown singer with a voice and a dream, ready to slug it out on the city’s bearpit jam-circuit. Since then,...

She hailed from a musically talented family: her brothers, Joseph Fuchs, a violinist, and Harry Fuchs, a cellist, performed with her on numerous commercial recordings. Her children and grandchildren continue in her footsteps. Beginning her musical studies as a pianist, she later studied violin with her father and afterwards with Franz Kneisel (former concertmaster of the Boston Symphony and first violinist of the Kneisel Quartet) at the Institute of Musical Art, now the Juilliard School.
