Rainey (born Rayney Haynes on August 16, 1962 in Memphis, Tennessee) is an American singer-songwriter. She is also an actor, producer, writer of fiction and visual artist. She is probably best known for her contribution on the "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" soundrack (a film starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Helen Hunt). She performed the songs "I Can Fly" and "Technique". In 1987 Rainey toured France for six months as backup vocalist and duet singer for French superstar Johnny Hallyday.
