1) "the Indigo" is a unit by Miki Taoka (vocal and lyrics) and Yuichi Ichikawa (composition and arrangement). Miki was making demonstration tapes. Yuichi was working as a composer/arranger. They got to know each other through making a demo tape, and they became "the Indigo" in 1998. In 1999, they composed a song called "BLUE", which was highly appreciated by everyone in the Japanese music industry. The retro-swing unit Indigo Swing were formed in San Francisco around the sextet of vocalist Johnny Boyd, guitarist Josh Workman, bassist Vance Ehlers, drummer "Big Jim" Overton, pianist William Beatty and saxophone player Baron Shul. After kick-starting northern California's new school of swing, the group began touring around America and signed to Time Bomb Recordings in 1997.
