This indie rock powerhouse known as Japanese Sunday should be a welcome addition to the San Diego roster of quality bands. Songs like "First Shot Fired on a Blue A.M." and "Tigers on Ships" are easily my favorites but the guitar work on the intro and then throughout "Pinocchio, The Bleeder" almost sounds like classical Latin guitar and is fantastic. The vocals...
Deciding that a name change might be nice before they dove further into releases, boleyn became Bicycle Sunday. Conceived in late 2009, Bicycle Sunday serves as both an homage to true, personal emo of the 90s like mineral and early the appleseed cast as well as a look forward to what honest emo will become, swinging to gut like Empire! Empire! (I Was A Lonely Estate) and Joie De Vivre. "Nothing's All Right" EP and "Remnants of Past Lives" available at Bandcamp Split 7" with Park Jefferson available Digitally and at Big Cartel .
Sunday Radio, the electronic project conceived in late 2007 and headed by songwriter Zong, spans the boundaries between sub-pop, electro, ambient, and indie-rock. Sunday Radio uses layers of bright keys, fluid synths, airy guitars, and honest vocals to bring together a truly inspiring sound. Pulling melodic inspiration from artists Ben Gibbard (Death Cab for Cutie) and Mike Kinsella (Owen, American Football) and instrumental influence from electronic collaborations Röyksopp and The Postal Service, Sunday Radio’s striking melodies, airy instrumentals, and ambient atmospheres create a unique and unforgettable sound. .
