The Amity Affliction | en

Amityville started as a duo involving ex-Geneva singer Andrew Montgomery and former Poppychain guitarist Stuart Peck in London, in about March 2002. The two wrote songs for about a year before enlisting David Bevis (drums) and a succession of second guitarists and bass players, none of whom stayed around long. They released the EP 'Pacific Radio Fire' (named after the Richard Brautigan short story of the same name) on their own label, Comedown Records, in July 2004. It garnered some great reviews from the likes of Claire Sturgess (who made it her XFM single of the week) and Drowned in...

Amity Dry has been studying music and piano and performing on stage since she was just five years old. She began writing original songs when she was twelve and was accepted into a performing arts school at sixteen. Her life has always been dedicated to following her dream of being a recognised singer/songwriter and in 2003 that dream was realised with the release of her debut album 'The Lighthouse.' But the road wasn't always easy, and Amity spent many years honing her skills as a songwriter and performer before her big break. This journey included making trips to Nashville, USA's...
The Shibuya-kei trio known as Natural Calamity is a bit of an anachronism compared to others in the rich Japanese pop scene characterized by Cornelius and Pizzicato Five. The earthy trip-hop blues produced by Shunji Mori and Kuni Sugimoto, plus American Stephanie Heasley's countrified vocals come in marked contrast to Tokyo's many French/Brazilian/exotica aficionados. Mori and Sugimoto met in the early '90s, and produced their first album Dawn in the Valley for File Records, owned by Toshio Nakanishi of Love T.K.O. Let It Come Down and Sundance followed, as well as the collaboration LP Group of Gods, recorded with Nakanishi...
Amity in Fame – Biography (March 2010) The band was founded in May 2008 and plays powerful acoustic rock. While this may sound like a stereotype, the big strength of the band is its original style. Most of the band members are influenced by metal, still they refuse to use distorted guitars in their songs. Instead, the lead guitarist of the band incorporated a very individual style to play his Variax. The band‘s unique sound already found a broad reception within the internet community. Though the history of the band dates back only one year and a half, the band...
