The project MASHROOMS was born in 2000, in Syracuse, Sicily. After three demo tapes they released their full length debut "Welcome to Spackentown" in December 2003. In the following year, the band moved to Florence and toured extensively through Italy. In 2005, their second release "The-ginko" appeared, with artistic production of John Congleton (Paper Chase). MASHROOMS sprinkle sounds of violin, cello and keyboard into an otherwise classical set-up. They perform a mix of post-rock, noise, post-punk and space-rock. Expect music between honesty and complexity, sending waves of brain-food right at your head, best to be consumed via osmosis. .

The Magic Mushrooms was an American psychedelic garage rock band in the 1960s. The Magic Mushrooms were originally composed of 5 students from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. They were: * Joe Lacavera (Drums), * Stu Freeman (Vocals and Guitar), * Ted Cahill (Lead Guitar and Autoharp), * Dick Richardson (Keyboards) and, * Charles Ingersol (Bass). They came together shortly after they started their freshman year and practiced in the freshman commons until they started playing gigs. The founders were the Harrison brothers: Teddy Kalanda, John "Bishop" Katana, George Ziro and Billy Zarro. They have kept the band going ever since.
