Little Shoes Big Voice is the writing, arranging and performing partnership of Jack Durtnall and Emily Harvey. Jack is a multi-instrumentalist and singer whose instruments include saxophones, guitars, bass, ukulele and percussion. Emily is a singer with a truly trademark and unique vocal style. She has been singing in many projects since moving to London, working a lot with covers from RnB to garage to folk as well as writing her own originals.
The two met through Strum Live gigs in East London, thrown together in a jam at the Bedroom Bar, Shoreditch, where the music just clicked. The band...
2 Shoes are a duo from Brentwood, Essex, made up of Charley Bird (23), a telesales worker, and Lucy Texeira (21), a retail assistant. Bird is currently expecting her first child. They sang "Something Kinda Ooooh" and were the first of the groups to be eliminated from the live shows on October 9 by decision of mentor Tulisa Contostavlos, as there was no public vote in the inaugural live show. .
The Hat Shoes was a project of Catherine Jauniaux and Bill Gilonis. Charles Hayward (This Heat and more) and Tom Cora (Skeleton Crew and more) complete the basic line-up, though there are many guest musicians, including David Thomas, Amos and Tim Hodgkinson. Their first album 'Differently Desperate', released in 1992, mixes opera, post-punk, pop, and avant-garde to create a fairly unique mix. Ten years later, in 2002, they released what is their most-recent album to date, Home. .
The electrifying duo of Nadia Fay and Jay Condiotti return with “Stars”, the highly anticipated follow up EP to their 2009 release “Supamedicine”. Overflowing with invention, “Stars” delivers unexpected lyrical depth, shimmering synths and a sonic spirit that makes you move as much as it makes you dream. Effortless and soulful, singer Nadia Fay’s alluring hooks and vocal dexterity is enveloped by producer Jay Condiotti’s densely layered, musical innovations. With lyrics like “And there’s no ceiling when we close our eyes, there’s nothing but skies, just the bluest skies”, this is self-assured, escapist pop at it’s best. .
